The host Simona is a wonderful lady, whom I chatted in the garden with for over an hour after my arrival and shower. She made my stay memorable, and I felt very welcome and looked after.
Because of the beautiful surroundings and the aesthetic comfort of Simona’s place (rooms, breakfast, garden, view), two friends who came to stay with me at UvaBlu asked in amaze, „Anne, how did you find a place like this??“ Simona is as wonderful as the visual impression of her house and garden. If you travel by yourself I can recommend UvaBlu because someone is in the house even though you are in the mountains.
Empfehlenswert!
To stay at Simona’ s place was a very nice experience. Very quite place. Had a lovely breakfast in the garden with nice jams, bread, cheeses and cupcakes. Simona is a lovely host.
My friend and have lived most of our life on the shores of Lake Maggiore, and as it is often the case, we have a tendency to wanting to travel far, forgetting what is in ones backyard. We thus decided to go for a two days tour to hike in the mountains just behind Lake Maggiore, bordering nearby Switzerland. For our night out, we decided to stay at “B&B Uvablu”. What could we say to best describe this experience? Well, it was almost moving. It felt like a privilege to having the possibility to spend even few hours in this hamlet, with just a few old houses, and several agricultural stones building. Surrounded by an ancient vineyard and overlooking the Ossola Valley with magnificent 360°views on the mountains, this place allows you to go back one century, and this is so refreshing. Simona is certainly the kind of person that can always surprise you, not only for her hospitality and great home made breakfast and lovely jams, but also as for her personality and culture. The house, the rooms…, everything was just so charming and neat. Next day we had a lovely trek on the nearby mountains and because we did not have enough, we will definitely go back soon. So yes, even for locals like us, magic can be found nearby, in the simplicity of the authentic.
Simona is a great host with a wonderful apartment in the middle of a vineyard! Delicious breakfast every day and nice recommendations for travel! Thank you very much!

Sehr gut.
I was tempted to give a bad review so I can keep this wonderful place secret to myself. But the truth is the house, Simona, and the location are so fantastic that I cannot deny the experience to anyone else. The ancient, beautifully restored house is full of character for which you would be coming to this part of Italy for in the first place. The garden, vineyards, and associated neighboring cottages of the hamlet give a timeless feel for what life has been like here for centuries. Views of different mountain ranges and valleys in every direction. Breakfast is superb and made with such attention and care for details, using the best local, bio, and handmade products from Simona’s own kitchen and garden. Finally Simona is a wealth of information about the architecture, culture, and soul of the region. She connects with her guests and engages them with stories of her own travels, and endless hints for the area. What impressed me the most was her open door policy in her kitchen, in which all day long neighbors and friends would come by for a visit showing she is a real center-point of the local community and an inspiration for the slow-food, slow-living movement in Italy. You will rejuvenate your soul here….

I had a wonderful time staying at Simonas place. The house is very nice, nicely decorated, it is very quite there and from every window one can see the mountains or vineyards. It was perfect for relaxing and hiking and Simona is a great host.

Everything was very nice. The house and garden was very charming and the room and bathroom were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was marvelous. Simona was a very nice person. She took good care of us and even drove us to the station which where some km from the house.

The place is much better than in the photos. I would like to spend more time here, but even one day gives a very pleasant feeling. Organic food. Breakfast is really good. Simona is very nice and careful. Nearby are pretty towns and panoramic railway.
In gamba a fare tutto e a farti sentire a casa.Torneremo sicuramente, GRAZIE!

You couldn’t ask for a better place to unwind and relax. Absolutely stunning home, property, views and service. It is an Italian escape like no other and I can’t wait to be back very soon.
“What can one say? This is a little slice of heaven. The initial email communication was pleasantly informal and clear, regular and concise, and had me feeling at ease before my arrival. The beautiful area of this idyllic hamlet strewn with grape vines, through to the mountain views rolling into the distance, this place fits me perfectly. The homely rooms which respect the period of the house but with little personal additions from Simona’s worldly collections hit the mark perfectly as do the common sense requirements – a hairdryer in the room and a squeegee in the sizeable shower (anywhere that has a squeegee for ‚wiping down‘ the shower has a head start in my book straight away!), this is more for me an experience than just your average Bed and Breakfast. There are even little pillows stuffed with (locally reaped, no doubt) dried herbs adorning the pillows to keep the rooms fragrant and fresh. The breakfast was quaintly delicious (a wonderful, local addition of goats cheese made from one of Simona’s friends up by the Swiss border gives you an idea of the thoughtful touches at Uvablu), the table setting sublimely divine under the pergola, and just, well, the feel of the place, which can neither be described in words or pictures is something you’ll really need to experience for yourself. There is wifi too, but using my phone felt like this was a viral intrusion which I had brought into this peaceful, rural and sumptuous environment. Bring a book – work is certainly best left at home. The crowning glory however is Simona herself. If you’re the kind of person who is more interested in listening to others over talking about yourself, she is a wonderfully engaging soul and certainly worth inviting in to share a slice of home-made banana cake with (in any of the languages she is proficient in!). Cannot recommend this place enough if you want to decompress and be a part of life once again. Thank you Simona.”
“Simona is a great host, quick to respond prior to the visit and very hospitable during it. The house is in a lovely location but the outdoor breakfast was the highlight for me; most of it homemade, all of it delicious. Recommended.”
Simona is a fantastic host and the property, set amidst the wineyards is a great location. She is very knowledeable about the Ossola Valley. Faboulous Breakfast with locally made products. I will go back in Spring or Summer to take full advantage of the surroundings.

„Very clean and beautiful house, with 1700 years of history is still preserved classical and the atmosphere! Beautiful like a fairy tale world in general, Simona is a studious friend, very good at communication, and gave us a lot of help, in the house to take care of the kind, in the morning to provide us with all-natural health food, although we stayed only a day, but we cannot forget. I believe that in the future if I have the opportunity to come to Italy, I will choose to bring my friends here to stay one night, This house is great!
Dear Simona,
We would like to thank you for your wonderful hospitality, and for providing us with such a lovely place to stay. The room (in fact the whole house!) is really characterful and beautifully presented, and we loved the fact that we had mountain views out of all of our bedroom windows. We really enjoyed our breakfasts in the garden too with your tasty homemade jams and local produce. Such an attractive and peaceful place to start the day.
We hope you have a great summer, and that the temperature comes back down a little rather than getting any hotter!
Grazie Simona, torno presto.
“I only stayed for a couple of nights, but wish I could have stayed longer. Simona was so welcoming. She fed me delicious home cooked food – just what I needed after a long bike ride. I spent the day sitting in her garden, kept company by her cats, overlooking the valley. Perfect. ”
A place to be! I have been at Simona’s place once before – she is a very kind host and her breakfast is delicious. This time the grapes were ready to eat yumm!! The rooms have enough space. Bring a book and relax in the garden or discover the surroundings with a hike or by bike. Highly recommend to stay at UvaBlu!
I libri in camera…

Simona was incredibly kind and welcoming. The location of this b&b is stunning (totally worth the short hike) and breakfast was delicious. I had a lovely time wandering around the area and working at a little desk with gorgeous view. When my laptop charger broke, she let me borrow her own. thanks so much!
“We were here for two nights and it was absolutely great and we can only recommend it. The host – Simona – is very friendly and helps you whenever she can. For us this started already before we arrived. We told her that we'd come to Domodossola via the bus and she told us she could pick us up because she had to go in Domodsoola anyway – so we didn’t have to go the house by ourselves the first time we were there. Thanks again! Further you can ask her about tips where you could go hiking etc. and she’ll provide you with good information. The stay itself is just gorgeous. The rooms are very comfy and clean. The same goes for the shared bathroom (which is one floor below). The bathroom also has a nice shower in which even tall persons (1.93 cm here 😉 ) can shower without problems. It’s also quiet in this place since it’s not in the city. If you want to go to a restaurant there are some nearby – we always went to the same: Birreria Del Vichingo. The food was very good 🙂 By the way: If you come by public transport (train). You can take the train to Trontano (direction Locarno) from Domodossola and get off in Trontano. You then have to walk down the street to the B&B – which takes about ~15mins. But it’s a nice walk since there is not much traffic up there. Also: If you go there don’t miss it to do the walk to Marone which is an abandoned village near Trontano (if you are starting in Trontano be sure to take the mulino way (red signs and then follow the signs to Marone once you are in the woods), so you don’t have to walk all the way on the main-street.”

“Simona was so lovely! I had such a great time staying with her. The house is clean and peaceful, with a great view of the valley and mountains from the bedroom window. I had many lazy afternoons sitting under the grape vines in the garden. The breakfasts were fantastic: homemade breads, jams and a new cake every day. She was really knowledgeable about the local area and directed me towards the best local restaurants and hiking trails, even hiking with me one day. For someone who doesn’t speak a word of Italian, it was the perfect place for me to stay. Thank you so much for looking after me Simona! ”

“I visited Simona’s BnB while biking through Northern Italy and stayed for a few nights. The location was strategically located, only a half hour bike ride from Domodossola train station in the middle of the beautiful Ossola Valley. The house and grounds was a characteristic villa of old style, impeccably clean and organized. Simona was extremely welcoming, going out of her way to assist myself and other guests to ensure a comfortable stay and to help them with their travel plans. While I was there, I saw her assisting guests in several languages, English, Italian, French, and Spanish. She is a native of Northern Italy with extensive international travel experience and so was able to advise on both local points of interests as well as discuss international topics. She was an invaluable resource for my travel plans. The vineyards and gardens are a fantastic place to relax after a long day of bike touring. There is wi-fi throughout most of the house and garden, so it was possible for me to sit in the garden one day and catch up on correspondences and connect to work. I recommend Simona’s BnB to anyone looking to explore the Ossola Valley! ”

We arrived to Simona’s place following two recommendation from friends, and it was absolutely gorgeous! Unfortunately, we could only stay for one night. Simona is a great host, explained everything we needed to know and was friendly. She prepared a homemade breakfast and chatted with us about the region. later she showed us the vineyards and suggested a walking tour in the area. The room had everything we needed. We are definitely coming back again!!
The old palazzo just next to the little house is not visible in the images. It’s the centre of a huge estate with wine slopes and a charming terrace overlooking the Val d’Ossola. It’s a calm and beautiful place. Simona serves great breakfast with selfmade bread and jellys along with strong Italian coffee and at evening her first steps in making a very honest and rustical landwine. She recommended good Osterias nearby, welcomed us late at night on the arrival and even overlooked us sleeping too long on our checkout-day. In short: An absolutely perfect stay, thanks a lot!
“From the very first moment we felt at home at Simona’s house – just when we arrived we were having tea and cantucci together, talked about travel experiences and what to do in the area. The red room is absolutely beautiful and very cozy, and we enjoyed our tasty breakfast (always with freshly brewed coffee, homemade warm bread and cake – everything absolutely delicious!) in Simona’s company. It was so nice and we found not only a home in Pello, but also a friend. Thank you very much Simona, we will come back!”

Ovviamente CONSIGLIATO
Simona was a super host, welcoming and friendly, charming B&B in the middle of the vineyards, homemade breakfast with a different cake prepared by simona every day. She was very helpful in showing us what to visit and where to go. I really want to come back and definitely recommend her.
Simona was very accommodating and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We arrived fairly late on a very hot day, she helped us with our luggage and provided water quickly. She even set up a baby cot for our 10 month old son. There was a restaurant near by that was suitable for a late evening snack (10:00 pm) on Sunday. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience in a beautiful setting. The fresh breakfast with homemade jam, bread and cake were superb. I can highly recommend Simona’s place to any traveler looking for an original experience.
“Beyond the absolutely beautiful location of the quaint B&B, the host, Simona was beyond amazing and hospitable. She made the stay even more special and her cooking is amazing. I can’t say enough nice things about my experience- I would recommend to anyone.”
This experience was the best thing that happened to us in this trip. Not only was the scenery and atmosphere perfect, Simona’s personality, philosophy and charm were something we’ll take with us forever. If you’re ever in the area, you simply have to drop by. My recommendation is to just stay around the villa, read a book, do some yoga, walk around the Alps and relax. Also, get ready for a really good cup of coffee.
Simona has created an incredible idyllic experience in this charming corner of the Italian alps that rings true and authentic to her personality and her life philosophy. She was very prompt in responding to my booking request, sent precise instructions and was available to walk out to the street when I called on reaching the last block late in the night. Both the property and Simona have inspiring stories. The room was very comfortable. The bathroom is very modern and yet affords with a massive window with a view to the vineyards and snowy peaks beyond. The best part of the stay is the breakfast spread that Simona lays out with care and with bread and jams created from scratch. Simona is an attentive and caring host with a great knowledge of the town and the area around.

If you wish to stay at a quiet and peaceful place, Uvablu is perfect for you. We enjoyed our three days at Simonas home so much.
The environment is beautiful: you can discover a lot; Simone will give you her advices. We visited the „Orridi di Uriezzo“, hiked from Santa Maria Maggiore to Masera in a beautiful valley and relaxed with a Cappuccino in Domodossola.
We’ll not forget Simona’s hospitality: The delicious breakfast, the good smell in her home, the comfortable bed in the „red room“….
Since we travelled to Uvablu in winter, we will probably come back to hike on the mountains and see the national park.
THANKS, Simona!
“The setting of the house is idyllic – surrounded by grape vines and mountains. The house itself has so much character, and is a good balance of traditional and comfortable. Our host was so friendly and helpful. Really would recommend staying here. Will hopefully stay again ourselves.”

I very highly recommend staying at Uvablu. I spent the weekend hiking in the Domodossola area (Alpe Devero, Alpe Gorta). I stayed at Uvablu at the recommendation of friends, and it was such a memorable experience that I already look forward to returning. The renovated historic house is a prefect blend of tradition with modern amenities, the panoramic views are breath-taking to wake up to, and best of all Simona is a wonderful host — kind, friendly, generous, and warmly welcoming (not to mention a delicious baker).
Life is full of unexpected trails … One meets someone who tells you about a place hidden between vineyards against the Alpine flanks … And you make a reservation …. How strange is that … But there you are …. Amidst the vines the sun shines upon an authentic soulful house … Carefully renovated … A warm and welcoming Simona shows you to your bedroom … Aaaahhhh …. The red room with splendid views …. It was a pleasure to wake up in the morning to a finely dressed table … The smell of fresh coffee and home baked bread and cake under a lavish sun … Ah ah ah …. Paradise must have lost a piece here …. Two days turned into tree … God knows how long we would have stayed … 20 ? …. Ask Simona … She knows … So yes … We’ll be back ….
Hi all, i do really need to share my fantastic time i’ve just had in this cosy B&B located in the wonderful Val d’Ossola, near Domodossola in Northern Italy.
Uvablu is a little and special B&B, located in the mountains, a few minutes far from Domodossola, in a silent and relaxing place. Simona, the owner, is such a lovely person, so welcoming, and she has done all she could to make us feel at home! You are welcomed with a big smile and the lovely garden, with a table and seats for your breakfast, is a great place to rest and relax, reading a book or simply enjoying the silence and the wonderful view of the surrounding mountains! In the house there are two rooms, with traditional and comfortable furniture, and a gentle feminine elegant touch! I’ve slept in the green room and it has been hard to wake myself up in the morning, the bed was so comfortable and the night’s silence just incredible! Also the red room is very beautiful, and there is a wonderful elegant bathroom for both rooms. The view you can admire from the windows is simply stunning!
Simona offers you a fantastic breakfast, and if you want a nice chat as well!
I really recommend you guys to go and have a week end or spend more days to UVABLU, just to relax or maybe have some nice time there around, the fantastic mountains are just waiting for you, and Domodossola has a medieval Centre so nice to visit!
I cant wait to go back!

I loved Simona’s warm and welcoming personality. An absolutely beautiful breakfast, and all homemade. The peaceful scenery and picturesque surrounds. The lovely eating spot under the grapevines.

Absolut empfehlenswert!
We had the splendid pleasure of staying at Simona’s adorable and tranquil B&B for two nights. Located in a small hamlet on the mountain side a few kilometers from Domodossola. It was a very convenient and prime location to explore the vineyards and awe-inspiring scenery, take a short train journey to Locarno, and enjoy local cuisine and wine all within reach of this Simona’s cosy home. Truly a gem and an unforgettable experience not to mention lovely conversations spent over coffee and Simona’s amazing homemade bread and jam. I highly recommend and would definitely return in the future.
Coming from the road (Masera): Easy to find! Truely magic, quiet. Two charming rooms. Perfect set of the table in front of the house for reading or Dinner. The situation could be a filmset of a romantic italian movie. I enjoyed the open, friendly and interestings talk to Simona who travelled a lot in earliar times. Yes, sure, I’ll be back there „one of these days“ 😉 Cheers
defiantly the most amazing place we stayed in Italy, we didn’t expect to get to this area but in a final call because of the house we decided get there, and it was worth it. the house and farm is amazing among vineyards and stone houses it looked like a scene in a movie, located in a tiny village we just enjoyed walking around the vineyards and houses. we didn’t expect it from the pictures it surly exceeded our expectations. we wish we could stay there more and we love to return on our next vacation, or even move over 😉 the room was big and comfortable as well as the bathroom, we had a nice yard to hang in and chat with simona, which was a huge part of our experience in the house, she gave us full attention and warm hospitality, we surly felt at home. she welcomed us with a drink of Aperol, and provided us a baby bed fully equipped with bedding and let us use her kitchen to make the baby food. she helped us with info on what to do , the village of Devero was exceptional and all the area worth a visit, and the pizza place next to the village is great. don’t miss this house and this hostess
Camera e bagno pulitissimi. La consiglio vivamente”

“Very nice location. Simona (the owner) was very welcoming and helpful with everything. The house and room was decorated with much detail and taste. Nice breakfast with self-baked bread and strawberries from the garden (again, every detail is cared for). If in the area, we would come again.”
Simona is an attentive and easygoing host, offering a beautiful home in the middle of a vineyard, part-way up the mountain from Masera. She graciously picked me up from the train station, invited me to join her friends for a glass of wine at the outdoor dining table, and helped me with an injury on my leg. This 17th century home has all the classic features I adore, renovated with the modern amenities of a boutique hotel. The view from Simona’s house, during the day and at night, is spectacular! Her freshly made bread, pastries, and the vineyard’s wine added to the entire experience, and if I could have stayed longer, I would have!
Geweldige B&B. The place to be!
The place is, as listed, magical. It is well off the beaten path and provides a beautiful and quaint detour from the ordinary run of things. The house and rooms were very clean and well-maintained and our entire experience was fantastic. Simona was very welcoming and extremely accommodating and helpful. We will definitely return in the future.
We were lucky enough to stay with Simona at her B&B for one night. Simona was quick to respond to our Airbnb request & very welcoming when we arrived. Her home is full of charm, the room we stayed in was more than adequate for our needs and the area is just beautiful. We would like to have stayed another day or two and explored some of the hiking trails that the area offered but we had to go. We had a lovely breakfast the next morning including some fantastic coffee! Thank you for a really authentic stay. „I loved how welcoming Simona is and how beautiful her home is. This was my first airbnb booking so I was intrigued as to how it would all work. Simona was patient with me, welcoming and so pleasant. Thank you for making this easy. I was impressed and enjoyed our stay.“

A rare find in today’s world.
Located on a hillside, a few km from Domodosola, at the mouth of the valley of 100 valleys, a sense of history abounds around this wonderful place.
Very quiet and peaceful, surrounded by vineyards and gardens on well tended grounds.
I arrived late and tired and Simona offered to make me dinner so I would not have to drive to a restaurant…now that is old world service!
The rooms are simple, clean and the beds encourage a good nights sleep, the bathroom clean and the shower good.
There is a stone table and benches outside where you can eat and have coffee/tea in good weather
Walk 40 seconds and there are great view of Domodosola and the Piedmont Alps.
A very good base to explore the region and if you are seeking peace and quiet…well look no further.
The property has a very interesting history that I will reserve for Simona to tell you.
The cost is quite reasonable.
As I visit the area often, and have stayed in many places in the area, this is my new base when visiting the area.
A very safe place for children, with no traffic and plenty of place to roam around.
Go and enjoy…

We stayed just one night with Simona at her B&B UvaBlu but we won’t forget it.
What a warm welcome by Simona who turned out to be a perfect host. We had a nice chat in the evening and in the morning she prepared a very simple but nice Italian breakfast for us with good coffee (a good coffee does create the difference, doesn’t it?).
We really had to convince ourselves to leave as we could have chatted the whole day.
The room is perhaps a bit pricey (but competitive in the region) but also perfect, the bathroom is excellent and the views are stunning! What more can we say? If we ever stay in that region again, we know where to go!

In gamba a fare tutto e a farti sentire a casa.Torneremo sicuramente, GRAZIE!

Consigliatissimo

„Very clean and beautiful house, with 1700 years of history is still preserved classical and the atmosphere! Beautiful like a fairy tale world in general, Simona is a studious friend, very good at communication, and gave us a lot of help, in the house to take care of the kind, in the morning to provide us with all-natural health food, although we stayed only a day, but we cannot forget.
